Last nights loss was a tough one. It was the second time the Larry O’Brien trophy was hoisted above the court at Amway Arena, neither of those times were by the guys in the white jerseys. That sinking feeling in the stomach of Magic fans, highlighted as Hedo Turkoglu tells reporters he will opt out of his contract, can be overcome. Here’s five ways to make yourself feel better about it.
Find a team to rebound with. When cheering for a team on the rebound just make sure you know its only a one game thing. You might feel dirty about the idea, but getting to feel the rush of victory might just be the thing you need. Recomded rebound teams for a one game stand:
- Colorado Rockies, they are on an eleven game win streak
- New York Yankees, as much as it pains me to say it. They start a series with the, worst team in the league, the Nationals.
Ice cream! It taste great, and cools you down. Ice cream makes everything better.
Get your mind off of sports all together. Go for a bike ride, or ride the swan paddle boats at Lake Eola.
Drink, and do it heavily. It may not be good for your health or wallet, but it sure will make you feel better about the Magic for the time being. Orlando has a ton of great bars where you should be able to find a fellow Magic fan to drink the pain away with.
And finally, a favorite in Cleveland, “there’s always next year.” Dwight Howard, Rashard Lewis, and Jameer Nelson all have long term contracts with the Magic, which will keep the team competitive for years to come.

These all sound like great ideas but as a Massachusetts native, I can’t condone cheering for the Yankees in any situation.
