Scott Anez has a great one on one with Magic General Manager Otis Smith. Click here to read it. It’s a great read for Magic fans.
“S…I guess the big question this year will be…How will your team react to being the hunted instead of being the hunter?
O…Our guys are still pretty much the team that no one expects to do very much. So, I don’t necessarily think that has changed very much. But our guys know what they’re up against every day and they know they have to battle every day and I think they’re equally enthused about the [...]

Orlando’s Starting Five
There seemed to be only two realistic options for an Orlando starting lineup.
Option 1:
Dwight Howard
Brandon Bass
Rashard Lewis
Vince Carter
Jameer Nelson
Option 2:
Dwight Howard
Rashard Lewis
Mickael Pietrus/Matt Barnes
Vince Carter
Jameer Nelson
I like the more traditional aspect of lineup #1 because of Bass’ added rebounding and nice touch on his jumper, but from everything that I’ve heard this offseason, I figured that lineup #2 would be the choice, as did most NBA analysts and writers. The Magic do not want to lose their versatility on offense by moving Rashard Lewis back to Small Forward. Austin Burton of Dime Magazine has heard otherwise.
Vince Carter — At [...]

Here’s Bianchi’s take on Lee’s comments. Bianchi takes a shot at Lee bringing up his near game-winner in game 2 of the NBA Finals and wonders if Lee would still be on the team had he converted that Alley-Oop. Oh what could have been…
It looks like the CJ Watson saga is finally over. According to his twitter, he will remain with the Golden State Warriors.
well back to the bay we go!!! lets go warriors!!! playoffs or bust baby!!! new season new team everyone is healthy and we still BELIEVE!!!

Courtney Lee is Angry
After reading Tim Povtak’s latest article, it’s easy to see that Courtney Lee is still angry and upset about the trade that sent him to New Jersey.
“I’m going to be a man on a mission,” Lee said Thursday afternoon after a training session at the IMG Academy. “I just hope they’ll be happy for me when I grow into the player that they wish they had. I’d like them to one day say ‘I wish we would have kept him.’”
“I’d like to be Dwight Howard’s teammate again — in the All-Star game,” Lee said. “They [Magic] have a history [...]
The Orlando Magic have made it official. Adonal Foyle will be back for another season. Although Foyle didn’t make much of an impact last season and only wound up playing 6.6 minutes per game in nine appearances, he is considered a very good teammate and a great guy to have at the end of the bench. He can still play pretty good defense if called upon to do so. Foyle will be Orlando’s third-string center behind starter Dwight Howard and backup Marcin Gortat.
Foyle was actually dealt to Memphis in February last season as part of the three-way deal that [...]
Magic News and Notes
Tania Ganguli of the Orlando Sentinel is reporting that the Magic are close to re-signing veteran Center Adonal Foyle.
This is a good move. Foyle’s cheap and a good guy to have at the end of the bench. With the re-signing of Foyle and the Jason Williams signing, this should end Orlando’s off-season moves. Last season, Foyle averaged 1.9 points per game, 2.9 rebounds per game and .9 blocks while playing just 6.6 minutes per game. He appeared in just 9 games.
According to OrlandoMagic.com, the Magic’s slogan for the 2009-2010 season will be “Be Magic.”
The Orlando Magic’s players aren’t the [...]
He was the Defensive Player of the year in 2008-09. He was the leading vote-getter in voting for the All Star Game. He came in 4th in MVP voting last season. He led the league in rebounds over the past 2 seasons and vowed to add the league lead in blocks last season, which he did. He also lead his team to the NBA finals and helped them earn their first ever victory in a finals game.
Dwight Howard has turned into one of the faces of the entire NBA and now he wants to become more than just [...]
What PG Controversy?
There is no PG controversy. I repeat, there is no PG controversy. How come every time the Magic acquire another PG, whether it’s a Puerto Rican native beloved by his people who now reside in Orlando, a former street ball legend, or a 33 year old former flashy passer who hasn’t played in the NBA in over a year, there is a supposed PG controversy?
I’m usually a fan of Tim Povtak. He does a very good job covering the Magic and the rest of the NBA over at NBA fanhouse and was a solid writer for the Orlando Sentinel, but [...]
