According to Alex Kennedy of RealGM.com, the Magic are still in the mix for Restricted Free Agent PG CJ Watson.
Watson has stated in the past that he would like to play in Orlando, but it is unlikely that the Magic can afford Watson and would only have a chance to acquire him through a sign and trade.

“Everything is up in the air right now,” Watson’s agent, Derrick Powell, told RealGM’s Alex Kennedy on Tuesday.

While Orlando can’t offer anything more than a minimum contract, sign-and-trade talks are ongoing.

“Otis [Smith] has been in constant contact with Golden State and it’s definitely still a possibility,” says Powell.

Watson rejected a 1 year, $2.3 million offer from the Philadelphia 76ers earlier this summer. The 76ers, along with the Magic, the New York Knicks, and 3 other unnamed teams are still in on Watson. He is believed to be seeking a multi-year deal.
