
The first ever UFL game took place last night as the Las Vegas Locomotives defeated the California Redwoods. Former Florida State Kicker Graham Gano kicked three fields goals for Las Vegas.
“I definitely learned a lot in Baltimore,” said Gano, who was in camp with the Ravens before taking a spot in the UFL. “Thanks to them.”
And that presumably is the collective attitude of the players in the UFL, which will be a league of opportunity for those looking for a promotion to the NFL when the new league concludes its first season on Thanksgiving weekend.

Orlando fans should have a vested interest in the league because Orlando has their own squad in the four-team league – the Florida Tuskers. The team will play their home games in the Citrus Bowl including Saturday night’s game against the New York Sentinels at 7:00 PM EST.
The Tusker roster features many familiar names including former Buccaneers Running Back Michael Pittman, former Florida State Running Back and uber-recruit Lorenzo Booker, Former New England Patriot and Super Bowl winner, Tight End Jermaine Wiggins, former UCF Golden Knight, Oakland Raider, and New England Patriot, Wide Receiver Doug Gabriel and former Florida State Safety Dexter Jackson, who was the MVP of Super Bowl XXXVII.
Former St. Louis Rams and New Orleans Saints Head Coach and the 2000 NFL Coach of the year, Jim Haslett is Florida’s Head Coach.
