The Orlando Magic will take on the Chicago Bulls at the United Center tonight. Click here to see the Brian Schmitz’s report on the game.

Schmitz says that the game is not on television, but the game will in fact be shown on NBA TV tonight (channel 216 on DirectTV). If you don’t have NBA TV, as always, you can listen on WDBO AM 580 and you can hear the Spanish broadcast on WONQ AM 1030.

Jameer Nelson has been a fearless player throughout his career. And his injury isn’t going to change anything.

“I don’t know any other way to play. Rashard [Lewis] calls me ‘Mighty Mouse,’” Nelson said. “I’m a contact guard. I run into people. I block out. I take charges. Somebody on the team has to do that type of stuff.

“I can’t just be a jump-shooter. If I’m going to be a jump-shooter, I might as well take off 15 pounds and just back somebody up. But I put muscle on to be a starting point guard. I want to do the dirty work. I want to be that guy.”

The Magic have to make a decision about their opening day starting lineup and they have to make that decision soon. The season is just nine days away.

“I don’t know who my 3 [small forward] and 4 [power forward] are yet,” he said. “We’re trying to find the best fit — not just the best five guys — and what guys make our second unit better.”

Van Gundy said that a second team made up of center Marcin Gortat, point guard Jason Williams and shooting guard J.J. Redickhas been playing so well together that it “didn’t matter who we had at the 3 or the 4.”

Tania Ganguli reports that Stan Van Gundy knows he has a lot of options, but he wants stability in his starting lineup.

Stan Van Gundy’s reply was quick and simple when I asked if he might change starting lineups nightly to accomodate different opponents’ playing styles.

“You wouldn’t like to,” Van Gundy said. “I think we can switch up rotations based on situations. You would at least like to get to the point where you’re starting the same five guys pretty much every night.
