Magic Shoot Lights Out, Blow Out Hornets 121-86
The Orlando Magic defeated the New Orleans Hornets 121-86 in Wichita, Kansas on Tuesday night. Orlando dominated from start to finish, taking a 30-14 lead after one quarter of play. Orlando held leads of over 30 several times throughout the game starting in the 2nd quarter and finished with a 35-point victory. Orlando did a lot right, but turnovers were the issue once again. The Orlando Magic defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 102-83 on Monday night. The Magic ended the first quarter with a 30-21 lead and were in control for the entire game. Orlando once again shot the ball well. They were 36-of-75 in from the field (48%) and shot 11-of-29 from downtown (37.9%). Remember, Orlando did all of this without Point Guard Jameer Nelson, Shooting Guard Vince Carter and Forward Brandon Bass, who were all given the night off. Brian Schmitz is reporting that Memphis Coach Lionel Hollins is claiming that the officials show favoritism towards Magic Center Dwight Howard. “Dwight Howard’s a great player and Thabeet didn’t get a fair share of the calls right from the start of the game,” Hollins said. “It’s not Dwight Howard against Thabeet — it’s us against the Orlando Magic.” You can see the full story

Magic Overcome Poor Defensive Effort to Beat Rockets
The Orlando Magic defeated the Houston Rockets 113-104 Friday night to improve to 3-0 in the preseason. The Magic did a couple things really well. They really limited their turnovers tonight. After committing 23 turnovers on Wednesday night against the Heat, Orlando only turned the ball over 8 times against the Rockets. Orlando is and should be one of the favorites to win the NBA finals, but if they have made some improvements in certain areas, they will not capture their first title this year.
