Orlando Magic News & Notes: Rashard’s Return

The story of the night in Orlando is Rashard Lewis’ return to the team after serving a 10-game suspension. He will be starting as his usual Power Forward spot when the Magic take on the Charlotte Bobcats Monday night at 7:00 pm EST. Click here to read my preview of the game.

Rashard Lewis is very excited about playing in tonight’s game.

“I can’t wait to get out there,” Lewis said Friday after a morning workout. “This has been tougher than I thought it would be. It’s OK when we win, but when we lose, I’m always thinking I should have been out there to help.”

The Magic have dropped to sixth in the Sentinel’s power poll.

Coach Stan Van Gundy says his team wouldn’t be competitive right now in a playoff series against Boston, Cleveland or Miami. That might just be a motivational ploy, but the defense needs to improve. Rashard Lewis’ return should give the team a big boost.
