The Magic, who are fairly deep at Point Guard, will turn to Jason Williams and last season’s #2 Point Guard, veteran Anthony Johnson. Here is the official word on the injury from the Magic. Magic News & Notes: A Rusty Rashard
The Orlando Magic defeated the Charlotte Bobcats 97-91. Click here to see my recap, quotes, and analysis. You can find John Denton’s postgame analysis here. Joshua Robbins says that Jameer Nelson provided a needed spark in last night’s game. In the first four minutes of the second half, the diminutive point guard grabbed two rebounds, stole the ball once and swished two 3-pointers. And, with three minutes remaining in regulation, his driving layup extended the Magic’s lead to 90-85. Not bad for a guy who suffered from flu-like symptoms all weekend. Nelson helped rescue the Magic as they appeared headed [...]
Magic Defeat the Bobcats In Lewis’ Return
Rashard Lewis returned to the Magic lineup on Monday night and helped Orlando improve their record to 8-3 with a win over the Charlotte Bobcats Monday night. It was the second win over the Bobcats in a week but once again Magic Head Coach Stan Van Gundy was unhappy with his team’s play. “It was a good win to get. I guess I’m just waiting to see us play well.” The Magic let the most inefficient offensive team in the entire NBA scored 91 points. They came into the game averaging just 82.4 points per game. The Bobcats shot 50.7% [...]

Rashard Lewis is very excited about playing in tonight’s game. “I can’t wait to get out there,” Lewis said Friday after a morning workout. “This has been tougher than I thought it would be. Orlando Magic News & Notes (& Quotes): Back to Work
The Magic have had a rough schedule, playing two sets of back to backs and having a game nearly every other day. They haven’t really had a chance to practice. Even though the Magic only have two days off before Monday’s game against the Bobcats, Head Coach Stan Van Gundy is going to have them practice this weekend. And that is a good thing for the Magic. After Friday night’s victory over New Jersey, I asked Jameer Nelson about Orlando’s rough schedule and the team’s lack of practice. “We honestly haven’t practiced a lot. And when we did practice, we [...]
Magic Use Defense to Beat the Nets
The New Jersey Nets entered Friday night’s game against the Magic without a victory on the season. The Orlando Magic came in having lost two of their last three games. The Nets got off to a hot start and scored the game’s first seven points. Orlando answered with a 9-0 run and finally got the lead for good in the second quarter and won the game 88-72. The Magic had to play without any of their three Power Forwards – Ryan Anderson (ankle), Brandon Bass (flu), and Rashard Lewis (suspension). Luckily for the Magic, the Nets’ injury report was twice [...]

Magic Head Coach Stan Van Gundy does not think Michael Jordan is the greatest player of all time. Joshua Robbins writes that the Magic are at a crossroads. Stan Van Gundy says his team doesn’t play hard enough on defense. He says Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson, his two captains, need to step up their games. He says his team couldn’t compete right now if it faced the Boston Celtics, the Cleveland Cavaliers or the Miami Heat in a best-of-seven series. “What I’m hoping is that some people will get embarrassed — actually embarrassed — and wake up and start [...]
