End of Third Quarter: Magic lead 92-70.
- Rashard Lewis and Mickael Pietrus were on fire. Each hit four 3-pointers in the quarter and Lewis was fouled one of 3-point attempt and hit all three free throws.
- Pietrus had 5 points at halftime. Lewis had 3.
- Lewis now has 20 points while Pietrus has 17.
- Dwight Howard has 19 points and 10 rebounds.
- The Magic made just two 3-pointers in the first quarter.
Halftime: Magic lead 51-39
- The Knicks have taken some bad shots.
- The Knicks were 7-of-29 (24%) while the Magic shot 9-of-20 (45%). New York is shooting just 35.6% from the field in the game. Orlando is shooting 53.5%.
- Dwight Howard has 13 points and 6 rebounds.
- Orlando has really show a lot of hustle tonight. The play that most showed this was Rashard Lewis’ block of a Danilo Gallinari’s breakaway dunk.
- Brandon Bass dominated on the inside, scoring 9 points on 4-of-6 shooting in just 8 minutes. He and Howard are the primary reason that Orlando is dominating in the paint.
- Orlando is outrebounding the Knicks 28-22, but allowed the Knicks to grab 8 offensive rebounds after the Knicks failed to grab an offensive board in the first quarter.
- Bass originally check in at Center, but when Howard entered the game, he moved to Power Forward and pushed Rashard Lewis to the 3.
End of First Quarter: Magic lead 31-23
- The Magic have been very aggressive taking the ball to the basket.
- The Magic have 22 points in the paint to New York’s 6.
- The Magic really tried to establish Dwight Howard early – and they have.
- Dwight Howard scored 9 of Orlando’s first 13 points, is 5-of-5 from the field and has 11 points.
- Both teams are shooting very well form the field but Orlando is 14-of-23 while the Knicks have only attempted 16 shots, making 9.
- The Magic will be wearing everyone’s favorite throwback jerseys – black with white pin stripes.
- It is 70’s night here at Amway.
