The Magic came from behind to beat the Portland Trail Blazers Saturday night. Find out how it happened here.

Vince Carter is in the middle of a shooting slump.

“Like everybody else, I thought he played very, very hard defensively today,” Van Gundy said. “I was happy with his effort. I know there’s not going to be too many 1-for-14s in him. I think it’s always good for Vince or for anybody that when you have one of those days that your team gets a win and you can shake it off a lot easier and a lot quicker.”

Van Gundy has said that Carter hasn’t gotten to the free-throw line often enough this season.

Carter, however, took six foul shots in Saturday’s final quarter and made five of them.

“That’s when I tried to really pick up the level of attack for my team,” Carter said. “The shot wasn’t working, so go to Plan B.”

But, first, he’ll try Plan A: to keep on shooting.

Joshua Robbins has the story here.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that Jameer Nelson took part in Sunday’s practice.

“I’m not too worried about myself right now,” Nelson said. “We’ve got to get a couple of things straightened out and get playing the right way. So, I’m not the priority right now. We are.”

Nelson participated in the Magic’s shootaround on Saturday. It was a welcome sign for the team, but day-of-game walkthroughs are not nearly as strenuous as practices or games. When asked how he felt afterward, Nelson offered a one-word response: “wonderful.”

“We were basically preparing for Portland, so we weren’t going up and down the floor,” Van Gundy said. “But he looked good. He got in and battled and looked good.”

It was originally thought that Jameer Nelson would not return until Wednesday at the earlier but the Orlando Magic’s official twitter is reporting that Nelson will play limited minutes according to OrlandoMagic.com’s John Denton.

Denton: Jameer Nelson to play limited minutes on Monday.
