Magic Falter Down Stretch, Fall to Grizzles
For the second consecutive game, the Magic blew a 16-point lead against one of the hottest teams in the league. Unfortunately for the Magic, they couldn’t hold on this time. Memphis scored the game’s final seven points and won 99-94 to extend their home-winning streak to 11 games. Zach Randolph had 23 points and 19 rebounds to lead the Grizzlies. Dwight Howard had 27 points, 15 rebounds and 6 blocks for the Magic.

Orlando looks to win their third straight game Monday night when they travel to Memphis to play the Grizzlies. The Magic had a fourth quarter letdown and needed overtime to defeat the Charlotte Bobcats. The 23-19 Grizzlies have been the surprise of the league and last played on Friday night. Late in the third quarter, it looked like the Magic were going to run away with the game, but they played a terrible fourth quarter defensively, and let their 16-point lead slip away. The Magic flipped the switch in overtime and outscored the Bobcats 14-3 in the extra period, earning a 106-95 win. Orlando’s two most criticized players, Vince Carter and Jameer Nelson, each scored 21 point and Dwight Howard had 20 rebounds and 7 blocks.

The Orlando Magic gave arguably their best defensive effort of the season in their 100-84 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Friday night. The Magic will look to win their third straight game for the first time in over a month when they play the Charlotte Bobcats Saturday night. The Orlando Magic gave one of their best defensive efforts of the season . The Magic allowed just 27 points on 10-of-44 shooting during the middle two periods. Orlando outscored the Kings by 27 during those two quarters sending the fans in attendance home early. The Orlando Magic will look to start a new winning streak when play host to the Sacramento Kings on Friday night. The Magic put an end to their three-game losing streak by beating the Indiana Pacers 109-98 on Wednesday night. The Magic seemed to let up in the second half but in the locker room afterwards, the team just felt good to get the victory. It was Orlando’s first victory since they defeated Kings on January 12th.
