Quick Recap: Magic – 96 Heat – 80

AUTHOR: | IN: Orlando Magic, Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

On Orlando’s opening possession, Dwight Howard showed off the passing skills that those close to the Magic have been raving about lately when he threw a pass out to an open Jameer Nelson, who knocked down a three-pointer. The Magic had an early 5-0 advantage but the Heat went on a 16-7 run to take a four-point lead. The Magic quickly tied the game on two Jameer Nelson free throws and a nice drive by Rashard Lewis. The rest of the quarter was back-and-forth. The Magic closed the quarter strong, scoring the final four points capped by a Marcin Gortat [...]

The Orlando Magic blew an 18-point third quarter lead and couldn’t overcome David West’s 40-point night, dropping Friday night’s game in New Orleans against the Hornets 100-93. The Magic played fantastic in the second quarter and for a good portion of the third quarter before going ice-cold and let the Hornets get back into the game, eventually winning it. Rookie Marcus Thornton had 18 points and 7 rebounds and fellow rookie Darren Collison scored 16 points and dished out 7 assists. Dwight Howard had 26 points and 10 rebounds, recording his 20th consecutive double-double while Jameer Nelson had 19 points [...]

HTD’s good friend, Alex Kennedy of HoopsWorld.com, is at the game and you can read his courtside blog here. The team is much closer than they were several months ago and it’s no surprise that they’re looking more [...]

The Orlando Magic are 4-1 since the All-Star break and they will look to continue to play well when they travel to New Orleans to take on the Hornets on Friday night. The Magic have improved to 39-19 and are currently the two seed in the Eastern Conference. Things are not going as well for the Hornets. They have lost their last two games and seven of their last 11. They are currently 30-28 and are three games behind the Portland Trail Blazers for the eighth seed in the Western Conference. With just 24 games to play, the Hornets need [...]
