Even after I made my case for J.J. Redick to be in the three-point shootout, Josh Robbins tells us the NBA has not invited Redick.

Two participants in this year’s contest field have a lower 3-point percentage than Redick.

New York’s Danilo Galinari is shooting 40.3 percent, but he ranks first in the NBA in treys made this season, with 126. Miami’s Daequan Cook is shooting only 30.0 percent, but he’s the contest’s defending champion.

Here’s the list of participants, along with their 3-point percentage this season:

Chauncey Billups, Denver, 41.5 percent
Daequan Cook, Miami, 30.0 percent
Stephen Curry, Golden State, 42.9 percent
Channing Frye, Phoenix, 43.8 percent
Danilo Gallinari, New York, 46.7 percent
Paul Pierce, Boston, 46.7 percent

It’s not a bad lineup. Daequan Cook has a poor percentage this season but he is the defending champ. Chauncey Billups and Paul Pierce will provide some needed star power while Danili Gallinari and Stephen Curry will appease to the younger crowd.
