Dwight Howard finished the 2010 All-Star game with 17 points (on 7-of-10 shooting),  five rebounds and three blocks as his Eastern Conference All-Stars defeated the Western Conference 141-139. It wasn’t the best All-Star game of Howard’s career statistically – that honor goes to his first All-Star game back in 2007 when he scored 20 points and 12 rebounds. It was however, probably the most entertaining All-Star game of his career.

Dwight Howard provided some memorable moments on the court.

Howard was also mic’d up and provided endless entertainment.

  • It was funny listening to Howard yell after his dunks and even yell about calls while he was out of the game.
  • TNT let us hear Dwight tell his fellow players that “LeBron James is the best player” in his Charles Barkley voice (this is a regular routine of Howard’s).
  • Howard also let out a Lil Jon style “YEAH” at one point during the game.
  • We also heard Howard tell LeBron James that he would go out there and “do that for fun” after he asked James if he would do flips with some of the entertainment.

Just like he did Friday night when he was an announcer, Howard put on a show for his fans and showed just how much he has playing the game of basketball. It was the second time Stan Van Gundy coached in the All-Star game and he is now 2-0. Van Gundy also led the Eastern Conference All-Stars to a 125-115 victory in 2005 behind MVP Allen Iverson when he was head coach of the Miami Heat. Van Gundy did a pretty good job of managing his players and even set up a couple of good plays out of timeouts, one that led to a dunk and one that got Paul Pierce an open three.
