Howard The Comedian (Who Can Dunk The Ball Pretty Well)

After Sunday afternoon’s win over the Los Angeles Lakers, the Magic locker room was obviously a happy place. And as usual, no one was more happy than Magic Center Dwight Howard. He expressed this happiness with humor, as he so often does.

Before Howard began to talk with reporters, he was dancing in front of Point Guard Jameer Nelson. Howard then looked towards George Diaz, who recently wrote an article saying that Howard was not an “alpha dog” and said “Let me stop, alpha dogs don’t play in the locker room.”

It’s good to see that Howard doesn’t let articles like that get to him and takes it all in stride. It’s important to mention that Diaz has been a good sport since the article was written.

Later on when discussing Jameer Nelson’s rebounding, Howard questioned Nelson’s claim that he’s had a 12-rebound game (Howard was right, Nelson’s career-high is 10). Howard began to poke fun at Nelson’s height, eventually telling reporters that Nelson is “bar none, the best dwarf to ever play.”

Those who went to the Lakers locker room after the game got back late so Howard decided to answer their questions even though he was already done taking questions. He conducted his entire interview with some sort of Caribbean accent and told reporters that Matt Barnes brought “Mattacality” to the team.

Howard showed that he can be serious when he needs to be. In this video he completes a dunk while being the victim of a Pau Gasol flagrant foul (thanks to PeteProse.com for finding the video):
