Dwight Howard is really enjoying his trip to India. Howard arrived early Tuesday morning in Bangalore, where he spent some time with India’s national basketball team, spoke to a group of 200 people and also saw tigers during what he called “a little safari.” “The highlight for me coming here to India, besides working with the kids — that’s the best part — was being able to go see tigers,” Howard said. “That’s always been a big dream of mine, just to see tigers. The Chris Paul Dream Is Over
It looks like the Chris Paul dream is finally over for the Orlando Magic. The Hornets traded away backup point guard Darren Collison. Collison, who did a nice job filling in for Paul while he was injured last season was thought to be one of the main reasons the Hornets might really trade Paul, the league’s best point guard. Per Chad Ford of ESPN.com, the trade involves four teams and has former Magic guard Courtney Lee being sent to the Houston Rockets. Orlando Magic Announce Preseason Schedule
A day after releasing their complete regular season schedule, the Orlando Magic have released their preseason schedule. The schedule is highlighted by Orlando’s last preseason game, a tussle with the Miami Heat in Tampa, Florida on October 22nd. The game will be shown by ESPN. Orlando kicks off the preseason October 5th in Houston against the Rockets. You can see the full preseason schedule here. 2010-11 Schedule Breakdown
Last week, the NBA released a few of their “marquee games.” Four Magic games were released. Tuesday, the entire schedule was released. Here are some of the highlights: Good news for you out of market fans without NBA League Pass. Is Jeff Van Gundy Helping His Brother?
Former New York Knicks and Houston Rockets Head Coach and current ESPN/ABC analyst Jeff Van Gundy told the Miami Herald the Miami Heat will break the Chicago Bulls single season record of 72 wins and also told the Herald they had a chance to break the Lakers’ record 33-game winning streak set during the 1971-72 season. Dwight Howard has arrived in India. Ben Q. Rock of Orlando Pinstriped Post wonders if Dwight Howard’s new action figure provides a sneak peak at new black Magic jerseys. Poland fell to Bulgaria but Marcin Gortat had another good game. The 6-foot-11 center is spending this month playing for Poland’s national team as it attempts to qualify for the 2011 EuroBasket tournament.
