The Orlando Magic will play host to the Dallas Mavericks Wednesday night in the final preseason home game. The game will be shown locally by Sun Sports and nationally on NBA TV. Tip is set for 7:00. As always, if you can’t watch the game, you can listen on the radio – in English on AM 580 WDBO and in Spanish on AM 1270 WRLZ. Magic Head [...]
Vince Carter’s defense has been impressing his teammates. Carter has taken a charge in each of Orlando’s past two exhibitions. On Monday night in Atlanta, Carter drew a charge on the Hawks’ Josh Smith. “We’re playing tougher than we were a year ago,” Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said after Orlando routed Atlanta 102-73. “Vince steps in and takes another charge tonight. I don’t think sometimes people understand what that does. He doesn’t have to say, ‘Don’t worry, I’m going to be tougher.’ He’s out there doing it. That’s the currency in this league. There’s a lot of guys talking [...]

Magic Dominate Hawks 102-73
In what has become the norm, the Orlando Magic dominated the Atlanta Hawks to improve to 6-0 in the 2010 preseason. Not only do the Magic consistently dominate the Hawks (including a clean sweep in the second round of the 2010 playoffs) but they have now won 20 preseason games in a row. When you a win a game by the score of 102-73, it’s clear you have dominated on both ends of the court. Orlando’s defense, as it often does against the Hawks, dominated the game. The Hawks couldn’t get anything going on offense – they shot just 24-of-78 [...]
Orlando Magic @ Atlanta Hawks
Dwight Howard returns to his home of Atlanta, Georgia when the Hawks host the Orlando Magic at Phillips Arena Monday night. The game will be shown locally by FSN Florida and nationally on NBA TV. Tip is set for 7:00. As always, if you can’t watch the game, you can listen on the radio – in English on AM 580 WDBO and in Spanish on AM 1270 WRLZ. The Magic have had the Hawks’ number in recent years and that rang especially true in the postseason last year when the Magic swept the Hawks out of the second round. The [...]
Game Recap: Orlando Magic vs Chicago Bulls
October 16, 2010 The Magic extended the most meaningless winning streak in sports tonight to 19 games (preseason wins) with their 105-67 victory over the Chicago Bulls. The Magic started the game on a 9-0 run spurred by Vince Carter who had 7 of the 9 and finished with a team high 21 points. The game was never close at any point and the 38 point final margin isn’t even truly telling of the absolute blowout this game was. Coming off an overtime loss the night before, Chicago was clearly on a mission to rest their starters as Derrick Rose [...]
Chicago Bulls @ Orlando Magic
The Orlando Magic look to stay undefeated in the preseason when they host the Chicago Bulls at the Amway Center Saturday night. Tip-off is set for 7:00 pm EST. The game will be not be shown on television in the Central Florida area so you’ll have to listen on the radio – in English on AM 580 WDBO and in Spanish on AM 1270 WRLZ. This will be the last time you will not be able to watch the Magic this season. The Bulls lost to the Dallas Mavericks Friday night in overtime so their starting lineup is likely to [...]
Magic Head Coach Stan Van Gundy is sorry he rested his starters. He also figured Thursday night “would be the least attended game of the four (home preseason games).” The Magic called it a sell-out of 18,846. “It’s a legitmate gripe,” Van Gundy told me when I asked what he would say to fans who purchased seats. “I understand if people were upset.” Fifteen minutes after I left Van Gundy, he called my cell. “It’s been bugging me,” he said. “I want to say I’m sorry and I was wrong. I thought I reasoned it through, but I can’t justify [...]
Orlando Magic Roundtable
Eddy Rivera of MagicBasketball.net had an idea to have a Magic roundtable to preview the season on his site. The roundtable consisted of myself, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel, Philip Rossman-Reich of Orlando Magic Daily, Ben Q. Rock of Orlando Pinstriped Post, and Dan Savage of OrlandoMagic.com . Here’s a little preview: Which team concerns you more — the Boston Celtics or the Miami Heat? Andrew Melnick: This is tough because both teams will present a lot of problems. The Celtics have added a few nice pieces and look very deep but I think this year’s Magic team is [...]
