AUTHOR: | IN: Orlando Magic, Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Orlando Magic finally got off to a good start, jumping all over the Memphis Grizzlies 8-0. They continued to play excellent defense throughout the first half in a game that became a turnover fest. Orlando turned it over 14 times in the first half while the Grizzlies turned it over 13 times. Still, the Magic went into the break with a 47-34 lead. Orlando had a few defensive lapses in the third quarter, allowing the Grizzlies to get within 5 before turning the heat back up to finish the quarter with a 69-56 lead. The Magic continued to play [...]

Orlando Magic Pull Out Late Victory Against New Jersey Nets

AUTHOR: | IN: Orlando Magic | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Orlando Magic narrowly defeated the New Jersey Nets tonight by a score of 91-90, as the Magic continue to struggle against inferior teams.  In a span of 20 seconds, Jameer Nelson went from Goat to Hero as he avenged two late missed free throws by going coast-to-coast to hit an extremely difficult fade-away baseline jumper which would give the Magic the win.  For 47 minutes and 56 seconds, the Magic did their best to let New Jersey win tonight’s game, but in the end, the Nets were still the Nets.  The Magic struggled again defensively and even more so [...]

Magic Defenseless In Loss To Raptors

AUTHOR: | IN: Orlando Magic, Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Orlando Magic gave an absolutely pathetic effort Friday night and they paid for it with a 110-106 home loss to one of the league’s worst teams, the now 2-7 Toronto Raptors. Orlando’s defense was to blame for the loss – they allowed the Raptors to score 110 points and shoot 50% from the field. Offensively, outside of 16 turnovers, Orlando played well – they shot 52.7% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc (12-of-24). The Magic were able to close a 10-point gap and tied the game at 103 on a Mickael Pietrus 3-pointer but gave up [...]

The Orlando Magic will look to bounce back after blowing an 18-point lead in a 104-94 loss to the Utah Jazz Wednesday night when they take on the Toronto Raptors Friday night at the Amway Center. The Magic fell to 5-2 after the loss while the Raptors stand at just 1-7 and are coming off a close loss to the Charlotte Bobcats Wednesday night. The Raptors had a chance to tie the game in the final seconds but Andrea Bargnani had the ball stripped away by Stephen Jackson before he could attempt a potential game-tying 3-pointer. The game will be [...]
