Late Rally Falls Short, Magic Lose To Grizzlies

AUTHOR: | IN: Orlando Magic, Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

After an excellent start which saw the Magic score the first seven points of the game and eventually take a 12-point first quarter lead, the Magic began to fall apart. They gave up 33 second quarter but scored 30 points of their own, holding a 58-54 halftime lead. However, the defense continued to play awful in the third quarter and the offense matched them as the Grizzlies outscored the Magic 32-16 to take an 86-74 lead into the fourth quarter. The Grizzlies got the first bucket of the fourth quarter but the Magic answered with a 12-0 run to cut [...]

The Orlando Magic will look to win their second straight game when they take on the Memphis Grizzlies Monday night. The Magic are coming off a win over the Cleveland Cavaliers in which they didn’t play particularly well. The win improved the Magic to 31-17, good for fourth in the Eastern conference. The Grizzlies 107-93 victory over the Washington Wizards Saturday was fifth win in six games, improving their record to 24-24. Since they play in the Western conference, they’re still 1.5 games behind the Portland Trail Blazers for the eighth seed. The Grizzlies are 15th in pace (92.4), 17th [...]

Magic Make It 20 Straight Losses For The Cleveland Cavaliers

AUTHOR: | IN: Recaps | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Orlando Magic didn’t play particular well Sunday night. In fact, they played pretty poorly, but because they were playing the league’ worst team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, they still came away with a relatively easy win. The Magic id the Cavs go on a couple of runs and even let them cut the lead to single digits early in the third quarter but they were never really in danger of losing the game. They wound up with a 103-87 victory. Dwight Howard had another huge game, finishing with 20 points and 20 rebounds while Ryan Anderson had 23 points and [...]

Magical Fail in Chicago: Recap and Reaction

AUTHOR: | IN: Orlando Magic | COMMENTS: None Yet

After playing possibly the worst quarter of basketball since the new trades during last night’s 3rd quarter, the Magic were defeated in Chicago by a score of 99-90.  The Magic wasted an all-time great game by Dwight Howard who scored 40 points, pulled down 15 rebounds and also picked up 4 steals and blocked 3 shots. Outside of Dwight Howard, the rest of the team shot 18-58 (31%) from the field and looked like they completely fell apart once Jameer Nelson wasn’t running the show.  Jameer left the game after only 8 minutes with tendonitis in his knee and did [...]

Orlando Magic @ Chicago Bulls

AUTHOR: | IN: Previews | COMMENTS: None Yet

Two of the Eastern Conference’s best teams will do battle when the Chicago Bulls host the Orlando Magic Friday night. The Chicago Bulls, who were the eighth seed last season, made some major moves in the offseason, namely the signing of Carlos Boozer. When these two teams first met this season, the Magic absolutely destroyed the Bulls 107-78 but the aforementioned Boozer was playing in his first game and scored just five points in 22 minutes. Jameer Nelson led the Magic with 24 points and nine assists. The Bulls are one of the league’s most improved teams, starting the season [...]
